Perhaps you’re expecting your first baby and feeling sad about a cancelled baby shower because everyone can’t be together right now.
Maybe it was just you and your husband at the hospital, and you’re wishing the whole family could have been there to welcome your newborn like you planned.
There’s no denying these uncertain times carry with them the feeling of missing out in a big, life-changing way.
Right now I can’t come to your home to personally take your newborn photos, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make happy memories with your baby! I will send you a DIY home newborn session pdf for before the session. It includes simple tips and posing inspiration so that you’ll have beautiful photos of the early days with your baby.
Additionally, we’ll set up a FaceTime or Zoom call so I can help you (or your hubby!) in real time with how to take lovely photos. We’ll walk through the DIY newborn photos guide together, and I’ll provide gentle posing direction for you. You (or your partner) will snap the photos while I’m on FaceTime or Zoom with you so you get the exact photos you want! Think of this as a newborn mini-session at a distance with me! I then edit your images for you and send them to you.. 10 high res images as part of this session with the option to purchase more.
Behind the scenes virtual newborn session with client.
As soon as business restrictions are lifted , I’ll be in touch to schedule the newborn lifestyle session in your home. We’ll create the precious moments you’ve been dreaming of – no matter how old your little one is. As always, I’ll come prepared with sweet swaddles and props for your baby.
Q: Who is this kind of session for?
A: I’ve tailored this option for mom's who very recently had a baby or are due between now and September 2020. If our stay-at-home guidelines are still in place, I’ll extend the offer to mom's with later due dates.
Q: It sounds kind of complicated to make this work. How do I know my photos will turn out?
A: There’s no denying this is an unconventional approach to newborn photography! You can checkout a recent session here if you did not view the video above
I’m confident that giving you instructions via FaceTime or Zoom is no different than when I walk clients through posing during a live session! We will chat in advance to discuss the basics like wardrobe and where you should plan to take the photos in your home. Then, when it’s convenient for you, we’ll hop on FaceTime or Zoom together. I’ll provide easy directions to help you get the photos you want. You can even use your iPhone to take them – no fancy camera required!
Let’s be honest: every photo of your baby is going to priceless. I hate to think about new parents missing out on these memories with their newborns, which is why I’m not afraid to try something new and a little different!
Q: What will the in-home session be like once business restrictions are lifted and you can come to my home?
A: You will get the full prep guide for the lifestyle session so you know what to expect. In short, when I come to your home, we’ll work together for an hour to document life with your baby. I usually photograph in the living room, master bedroom and nursery.
As always, I’ll include a custom sneak peek within 24 hours of your in-home session with me.
Q: Why should I schedule now when I can always wait till business restrictions are lifted everywhere?
A: You might have heard that when it comes to newborn photography, timing is everything! That couldn’t be more true! After all, you only have a tiny, squishy, brand new little love for a short time. I normally don’t even schedule newborn sessions past six weeks after birth; but, for any mama who schedules now, you’re guaranteed a spot on my calendar, no matter how old baby is! The video above was done with a 6 week old newborn. And yes, we can capture the sweetest memories at any age!
Once we return to business as usual, I expect to return scheduling babies from birth – six weeks of age for all new clients.
Given all the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 crisis, I want to make this as easy & simple as possible for you.
The Newborn Experience: Before & After will include:
I totally understand! Nothing about life right now is how we planned for it to go. Basically, I’m offering mom's like you the option to schedule your newborn session right now, at a time when 99 percent of my colleagues are not booking clients at all.
Because newborn photography is time-sensitive, when we return to “business as usual”, it might be harder to find a newborn photographer if you baby is outside the usual newborn timeframe. In fact, I usually limit my own newborn sessions to babies six weeks old or younger.
But, given these outstanding and unusual circumstances, I wanted to find a compromise that honors state “stay-at-home” guidelines while helping new mamas make sweet memories with their babies.
