So it's your baby's First Birthday? Where did that year go? Sleepless nights, coo's and giggles, Rolling over-sitting-crawling-walking, driving you nuts, then making your heart burst with happiness. It's been an entire year since you labored to bring this sweet baby into the world and you are both still alive and well! This is a huge milestone for you both! So celebrate in a way that will preserve them this way FOREVER!

What better way to start your child’s first birthday celebrations than doing a cake smash shoot… This can be done a few weeks before your little one turns one or some people even do it on their actual birthday. Not only will your child have a fun trying cake for the first time but you will also have some great photos to use for their invitation or at the party itself.

Your child will be let loose with the cake and is encouraged to make a mess! The cake is included in the session fee, and is the perfect shape and size for the smash. It is made professionally and is always of top quality! Don't worry about all that cake everywhere! We take a warm bubble bath right in the studio after the smashing is over! Clean them up and get them ready for the rest of their session or to go home! The bubble bath is another way to get baby smiles and them playing in their element! If they love the tub they tend to love the bath!! Don't forget your towel and if your baby uses special bubble bath for skin issues please bring

If your little one isn't a huge mess maker then I suggest a trial run. Set your little one on the kitchen floor and give them a tub of cool whip or pudding/yogurt and let them go to town. I've found allowing them to do this before the smash makes them a little more comfortable sitting on the ground trying to eat cake here with lights and a camera in their face.

Practice: Remember the baby is just one year old, and is often shy of exploring a new texture, shape or taste. Especially when surrounded by adults making funny noises and clapping to egg them on. So, take away the anxiety by doing the TRIAL run.

Introducing Riley in his cake smash session...

Little Riley did just that in his session and boy did he have fun! He had a monster theme cake...which was too cute and his session was green and blue colours...
