Why all moms deserve a boudoir shoot

Liesa was the lucky winner of my YUMMY MUMMY Boudoir Competition last year.

It was amazing capturing Liesa in the most elegant, yet simple shoot. I helped her with flattering poses so I can capture every angle just right.

Here is what Liesa's thoughts were on her upcoming shoot and why she feels every mom deserves to be spoiled with a boudoir shoot.

Liesa: I wrote a bit on what I think a shoot like this can mean for a mom (and for me)

I have been thinking about the upcoming boudoir shoot in anticipation (and in excitement and in nervousness)

As a mom you sacrifice so much of yourself.

Physically I do not recognize myself anymore. My stomach stretched, I have a C-section scar, dark patches and lines appeared on my skin, hair loss, my breasts changed, everything changed - not even my feet stayed the same (my feet are a full size bigger).

The physical part of it is only the tip of the iceberg.

Then there is the time you used to spend on things you are passionate about or just time spent on self love, friendships, time with hubby, all my favourite shoes and clothing which no longer fit. I don't know if I'll ever arrive anywhere on time or clean again (babies can be so messy - bless those little dirty hands). Oh and not to mention the emotional rollercoaster.

You sacrifice with love (and it is totally worth it) and you get so much more in return. But it still takes a toll on you. I still sometimes mourn the fun, careless, clean, on time and well rested me - the me I lost.

After becoming a new mom, I got to discover new parts of myself - like the love and strength only a mom can have. And with time I hope to find small bits of the "me" I've lost.

I'm hoping that this shoot will help me in both finding some of the bits of myself that are still there, but lost, and help me discover the new me (the stronger me, the me filled with more love than I thought could exist in this world). I also hope that this shoot will help me love my new body, because it really does deserve to be loved.

This mom body has given so much - it gave my husband and me the most amazing little girl.

My mom body grew, birthed (yes, C-section is still giving birth) and nurture my little girl.

We as moms should not only accept our bodies for what they are now, but we should celebrate it, because our bodies are amazing.
